Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.)

The fruit is also called mangosteen, and is purplish red when ripe, although there are also variants with red skin. Mangosteen fruit is known in trade as the "queen of fruit", as a counterpart to durian, the "king of fruit". This fruit contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. So that abroad the mangosteen fruit is known as the fruit that has the highest antioxidant levels in the world.
Selecting and Preparing Mangosteen Seeds
Buy mangosteen seeds from a trusted seller. Then make sure that the variety and type of seeds are clear. Seeds must come from trusted and certified seeds. Fruit seeds come from plants that are at least 15-17 years old. Make sure the seeds can be sown directly without having to be stratified first.
Sowing Seeds
Prepare planting media in the form of soil and supernasa fertilizer. Use a planting media ratio of 1:1:1. Then mix the media until evenly mixed and only take the fine part of the media. After that, put the planting medium into a medium-sized planting polybag. Fill the media into the polybag until the media is solid and even. Then plant the seeds into the planting medium. Flush the planting medium with water until it is saturated.
Planting Mangosteen Seeds in the Field
Make a planting hole first with dimensions length x width x height, namely 50x50x50 cm. Then add 5-7 kg of manure into the planting hole. Also clean the area around the planting hole from annoying weeds. Then leave it for 1 week and then the seeds can be planted. Choose good quality seeds to transplant into the land. Open the plastic polybag carefully, allowing the media soil to be embedded. Then insert the seeds into the planting hole.
Fertilization
Fertilization is the most dominant factor for the survival of fertile plants. Nutrient reserves in the planting medium must continue to exist, therefore supplementary fertilization needs to be given regularly. This fertilization can be done using organic fertilizer. The organic fertilizer used is Poc Nasa and Hormonic. The dosage is 4 Poc Nasa caps and 1 hormonal cap mixed with 15 liters of water then spray evenly on the plants. And for power nutrition fertilizer, it is used twice a season at a dose of 1 tbsp.
Pest and Disease Control
Control plant pests using Pestona, dissolve 5-10 cc per 1 liter of water. Then spray evenly on the plants that are attacked by pests. For maximum results, it should be sprayed as often as possible at least 3x per season.
Harvest
Mangosteen plants grown from seed will begin to bear fruit 10 years after planting. However, this really depends on the care and maintenance carried out
